Pruitt Littles

    Guess what?!  You are now officially a BIG GIRL!  I'm still not sure whether to rejoice or cry uncontrollably over this fact.  But seriously...  You are now potty trained!  And let me just say, you rocked it!  Within less than a week you were going potty without me having to prompt you.  Woot woot!

   To celebrate, on the 18th of December, you and I took a special trip to downtown summerlin to pick out your very own pair of underwear...inspired by your potty training book (that you just had to take along with us on this adventure...but it made for super cute pictures so i was cool with it).

When did you get to be so big?  And why is it that the older you get, the harder it is for me to remember you ever being a baby?  I'm just so so grateful that your dad and I thought to make some videos of you as a teensy babe that we could relive whenever our hearts desire - aka: at least once a month.

You are my best friend, little one, and I'm just so happy to have you in my life.  You make my heart happy when all I want to do is cry.

Totally late on this one...whoops!

Kylie, you turned 5 months on the 13th of December...and, naturally, that called for a mini photo shoot.  ...naturally

.as if i didn't already take too many pictures around here, Emma's just as obsessed with taking pictures.

* You are PRO at rolling.  That's your favorite thing to do the second we put you down.  You are getting so good at setting your sights on something, and then getting yourself to that item.

*  You have regressed from sleeping through the night, and are waking up about 4 times at night to eat...much to mommy's dismay.  We're crossing our fingers it doesn't last long, but since we're refusing to give you rice cereal to keep you full longer i'll probably just have to deal with waking up for late night feedings.

*  In relation to refusing to give you cereal...you want people food SO bad!  Anytime I'm prepping food you fuss and look at the food longingly.  If we are chewing you move your mouth as though you're chewing while you watch us.  I feel so bad because the last thing I want to do is torture you, but we definitely started introducing solids too early with Emma, and I've learned my lesson from that, so I'm sorry sweet pea....it'll be a while.  {My new motto: Solids before 1 is just for fun.}

*  You are still as sweet as can be.  You smile and giggle all the time, and we LOVE it!

*  You've done this since day 1, and you're still doing it - when we go to get you out of bed from naps you will wave your arms like crazy and stick your tongue out.  You just get so excited!

*  You are weighing in at about 15 pounds...which is pretty much average for your age.  But you're definitely packing on the chunky rolls.  I never thought I liked chunky babies...I was SO wrong.  Your rolls are my favorite thing to nibble on!  

Your daddy and I love you to pieces and we feel so blessed every single day to have you in our family.  You and your sister are still super tight buddies.  If one of you is not in the room together I see you both looking around for each other.  When you're not awake Emma is constantly telling me that she misses you and wants to play with you.  I'm so so grateful you two are the best of friends.

Love you sweet girl!  Just a few more weeks and you'll be half a year old!  ---how'd that happen?!---

We love Thanksgiving over here, and will take any chance we get to make it last as long as possible.  This year was no exception...we dragged it out to last the whole week.  Daddy had to work Sunday and Monday, so we went to church with grandpa and grandma Fernelius and had a normal day at home on Monday.  Tuesday Daddy was off, and grandpa and grandma Staheli were in town so we hung out with them at our house during the day and had a nice, relaxing first day of our 8 day vacation with daddy!

Wednesday we went to the fashion show mall with grandma and grandpa staheli to go visit Santa!  I'm kind of bummed we couldn't take pictures inside the building, but Emma loved every minute of it...almost.  She wasn't a huge fan of the pretty realistic sleigh ride...as in she closed her eyes, held her bunny super tight..and may have shed a tear or two...but she made it up to the North Pole and even sat on Santa's lap!  Super big accomplishment for our shy girl.  She talked about seeing "Christmas" (santa) for the whole weekend after her visit, so thankfully the sleigh ride didn't traumatize her too much.

.Kylie slept the whole time we visited Santa, but woke up just in time for us to have lunch at the food court afterwards, girlfriend loves eating, just like daddy.

.Daddy made the two houses in the middle, and my creation was the sad little outhouse on the right...i got kicked out of the decorating committee pretty dang quick.

The next morning we left for UT around 10am and made it to Hurricane just in time to visit with my dad's sisters and their side of the family for about an hour at their big family luncheon.  Emma mostly played with papa - no surprise here.  She's obsessed with him.

.second and third cousins meeting...my aunt Christine's family. We saw my aunt Rachel too, but didn't manage to get a picture with her.

We went back to the house afterwards and got to relax for a while, unwind, and look at pictures of the girls' daddy and grandpa Pruitt.  My girls look a lot like them, in my opinion!

We ended the night going back to Hurricane to stay with Daddy's Aunt Peggy, and had a late night snack before bed.

First stop: We visited with my grandma and grandpa Austad.  we love them so much, and enjoy every visit we have with them when we get a chance to go up to St. George.

Then we were off to grandpa and grandma Staheli's again.  The men went out to play Pickle Ball, while the ladies stayed home.  Emma played a little pool, and then together we made the best gingerbread house ever!  I redeemed myself with this one.

We ended the night heading back to Aunt Peggy's, cuddling up to a movie for a few minutes before crashing after a long and eventful day.

Day 3: After Emma was ready for the day she, of course, had to get barbie doll ready.  So, while mommy and daddy got ready for the day she ever-so-carefully combed her hair, and ripped her body in half while dressing her.  All we did today, Sunday, was relax at Peggy's while mommy and daddy packed.  We played outside for a few minutes, and then took off for home as soon as Kylie was ready to go down for a nap.  We had the BEST Thanksgiving week and just wish we would've had a few more days in UT to go on hikes and little adventures with our girls, but we were definitely ready to be home, too.  Traveling with babies is a lot of work.  We're really grateful we have 2 more days to recover with Daddy before he has to go back to work.  Loved our trip and love that we have made new memories with so many family members this week!
