.2 months.

Time is flying!  Sweet baby you are 2 months old as of yesterday, and every day we have you in our lives we fall deeper and deeper in love with you.  I love just about everything about you.  You still don't sleep through the night, waking for 1 or 2 feedings, but we really can't complain.  I thought I'd be dreading our sleepless nights together, but honestly when you wake up crying I find myself running to be with you because I miss you so much.  And it doesn't hurt that you always greet me with the sweetest, girly smile {and giggle} I ever did see.  You smile for everyone and I just LOVE that about you!

You still like to have your hands in your mouth, and will stuff them in there any chance you get.  I wash all your little mittens at least twice a week, and usually give up and you go without them for a few days every week because you'll soak through them all within a day or two.  And, it must be a baby thing, but you love to pop that teeny tiny little tongue out.  cute, cute, cute!

"Emma, help me get Kylie to smile, please."  "Okay, mommy..."
Still kind of breaks my heart to think that you haven't met your Aunts yet, but thank goodness for technology so they can get a peek into your life, and so you can celebrate momentous occasions with them.  You and Emma loved wishing Ash a happy 20th on the 28th of August!

We are living and loving and soaking up every minute we have with you and your big sister, since we know all too well how fast time flies by.  Before we know it we'll be getting you into preschool, high school, and then eventually we'll be watching you bring your sweet little angels into the world.  Oh time, please please slow down!  I want to be able to remember every last, little, sweet memory your Daddy and I make with our munchkins.   Happy 2 months cuddle bug!

.blessing day.

9.8.14
My sweet Kylie,
You were blessed by your daddy yesterday.  It was such a perfect day to celebrate the birth of such a sweet and precious baby girl!  Your daddy and I spent most of Saturday cleaning and preparing the house for the family luncheon that was going to take place after the blessing on Sunday.  But we got to have a nice little break when your sweet grandma (daddy's mom) came down from St. George for a few hours to cuddle and play with you and Emma.  You made your grandma SO happy when you woke up to give her a great big smile!  And your big sister loved playing with grandma in the toy box.  It was a super busy day, I think we only sat down for 10 minutes to eat, and ended the day with my mom coming over to help me finish sewing your blessing dress.  It was a long day, but so worth all the effort because it made Sunday morning so much more relaxing than it would've been if we hadn't worked so hard.

The next morning you and I got up at 7:30 to shower and get ready for the day.  The four of us relaxed most of the morning and just enjoyed snuggling before getting you and Emma dressed for church.  Your Great Grandma and Grandpa Austad stopped by for a few minutes before church, so you got to meet them then, and Emma chatted with Grandpa Bob for a little bit, and then we were off to church for our 11:30 meeting!

Right before sacrament, the 1st counselor called Daddy up to give you a name and a blessing.  Those that were in the blessing circle included Grandpa Fernelius, Great Grandpa Fernelius, Great Grandpa Austad, Grandpa Staheli, Brother Ellsworth, Brother Guffey, Bishop Fayles, and Matt Stewart.  I just loved your sweet blessing, my precious girl.  I recorded it so I still need to go and write it down, but I'm just so grateful that we are a forever family, and that your Daddy holds the priesthood and is worthy to bless his baby girl.  I get teary eyed all over again just thinking about it.

We got a couple of pictures outside of the chapel of those that came especially for you, my little sweetie!  You are SO loved!!  I definitely missed your Aunts Tiff and Ash at the blessing, but they're off serving the Lord and doing exactly what they need to be doing, so I can't complain.  :)  {Can't wait for them to meet you!}

It was SO hot when we went out to take some pictures. Not to mention Emma was not wearing a diaper...-don't ask- so we were kind of in a hurry. We had a big group, and with a big group comes the task of taking a picture where everyone is looking at the camera, smiling, etc.  We got Emma sticking her tongue out in one picture {thanks to Grandpa who told her to. ha} and we got a couple people blinking in the other, but at least we got some!  We tried. :)

We were glad we got a few good pictures outside before the downpour hit!  I had no idea it was going to rain.  But everything worked out so we were all inside eating lunch by the time the rain hit.

These next two pictures crack me up.  Kiana is 6 months old, and you're only 8 weeks but you two are about the same size!  I love my big girl, but please please please don't grow so fast!  I worked hard growing you for 10 months so I can have a new baby to play with.  Do me a favor and stay small for just a little while longer so I can cuddle you whenever I feel like it.  Please and Thank you! :)
.your best bud, Kiana Stewart.

You received some of the sweetest little gifts from our loved ones. One was a blanket from Great Grandma Austad!

The other was this canvas from the Stewarts!  LOVE this and the quote that is attached.  Pretty much made me cry thinking about my little princesses getting married one day.  The water works never end with me.

After we played and talked and ate a delish taco dinner, our loved ones started heading home.  The last to leave were Grandma and Grandpa Fernelius, and you and Emma wouldn't let them leave without some much needed cuddle time.

You are so so precious to us, Kylie.  We are constantly showering you with cuddles and kisses, and you are gracious enough to let us.  You are the most smiley baby I've ever seen, and it melts my heart every single time you look up at me with your gorgeous blue eyes and a great big grin.  *sigh*  You have mommy's heart, and always will.  Daddy absolutely adores you, and Emma is already your best friend.  She does everything for you, and her favorite thing to do is lay down next to you and pet your head and talk to you about the day...sweetest thing ever.  I'm so glad you came into our family.  What a special, sacred, perfect day.

Here's to starting our {forever} with you.

                                           Love,
                                                      Mommy

.just call me martha.

wait...does Martha Stewart sew?

Back when Emma was born I asked my mom to make her her own special blessing dress.  She collaborated with her mom and made the sweetest little dress that I just adore.  Jamison's mom had a friend make her a little crocheted blanket, and I made her little headband.  I love the knowing that her outfit was made with love by 3 generations of women in the family.

Well, Kylie is a bit bigger {a LOT bigger} than Emma was when she was blessed, so even if I wanted to put her in the same dress she would not have fit it.  Totally ok though because my goal is to have each daughter/son have their own individual blessing outfit so they can keep it when they grow up.

My mom and I searched for a cute pattern online for a few hours before we realized that we either thought the dresses we saw were too expensive or *cough cough* ugly *cough*.  Mom saw picture of a little cutie in a fabric layered dress, and we decided we'd recreate it with some slight adjustments like using lace.  My mom rocks!  She cut out the base without even using a pattern!  We took a trip to the fabric store and found the perfect lace, and ribbon for the trim, and got started!

.Big sister Emma even helped out.

I hand sewed the lace on before my mom took it to the sewing machine to secure it.  This dress was so super easy to make, but with tending to the girls and doing a few other projects at the same time, the dress took about a week to complete.

We love the way it turned out!

My grandma (dad's mom) crocheted Kylie's blanket and I LOVE it.  Anything made by her is very special to me, so I'm glad Kylie gets to have something of her own made by her Great Grandma.
In the process of making Kylie's dress, Emma decided she needed a "pretty dress" of her own.  So midway through Kylie's dress, mom and I went back to the store to pick up some material to make a dress for Emma.  The lace on this dress took a LOT longer to hand sew.  12 {freaking} layers of lace!  But I think it was so worth it because it looked super cute on my little lady.  Their matching dresses made my heart happy.

All three of us Pruitt women wore pearls for this special day...and for some reason I was so super giddy about it.  It's the little things..

I loved the way they turned out!  And more importantly, I love being able to say that we handmade our babies' dresses with all the love in the world.  So special, and we'll treasure the pictures and memories for years to come.  Love my little sweeties!
